"We wanted to introduce our little bundle of joy! Cherilynn was born on 1/4/2021. We can't say thank you enough for your help!"
"In November 2015, my husband and I traveled over 250 miles to have a vas reversal with Dr. Shep after doing hours of research on who the best doctor was to perform this type of surgery. The surgery went great; however, my husband's numbers never got up as high as Dr. Shep wanted in order for us to conceive naturally. Dr. Shep was completely honest with us and, at one year post reversal, Dr. Shep recommended my husband freeze a specimen in case we wanted to look into the IVF route. It was from one of the two vials frozen that our son was formed. He was born in 2020. I am so thankful for all that Dr. Shep did. Without the vas reversal and recommended frozen specimen by Dr. Shep, this would have never worked. It turns out I had a lot of issues that I was never aware of, including bad eggs at a young age. But...I did get one good egg :-) It worked out great for us though, no matter how long the road was."
“We recently saw Dr. Shep for consultation on a vasectomy and thanked him for all that he did with the bypass reversal in 2013. He loved seeing our kids and suggested we send you a few pictures and story for the website.
I'm sure my husband's story is similar to many others. He started having children when he was young and early married. He thought he was done after having three boys so he had a vasectomy. After divorcing, he and I met and starting a family was important to me. We attempted a reversal with another doctor but it was unsuccessful due to so much scar tissue.
We were referred to Dr. Shep and he performed a bypass reversal in 2013. We became pregnant by the end of that year and were so thrilled! On August 12, 2014 we welcomed our daughter Valor Marie, after a very normal pregnancy and vaginal delivery.
After having our first we didn't feel that we needed to worry about getting pregnant so quickly. Because we had tried for so long the first time, it would probably take just as long for a second. We were wrong and quickly became pregnant just 9 months after having Valor.
Our second daughter was born emergency C-section due to a complete placental abruption. It was a very scary experience and unfortunately our little girl, Nova Delaney was born and died on December 7, 2015. She lived just 27 minutes but she was fiercely loved by us.
After our loss we took a break and tried to heal the best we could. We knew life was something precious and we still wanted to grow our family so we were very cautious on our next pregnancy. On March 28, 2017, arriving emergency C-section due to chronic hypertension was our son Phoenix Gray.
In 2019 we got pregnant again; this time would be our last. I had a normal pregnancy and was able to have a VBA2C. We left gender a surprise until baby arrived. We were thrilled to find out on January 23, 2020 we had another girl join the family. Her name is Sequoia Rose.
What Dr. Shep was able to do for us and all our family is remarkable! He gave us four of the most amazing children Josh and I could ever ask for. He showed us we can overcome challenges together and achieve our dreams. Family means the world to me and I really cannot thank him enough for helping us start ours.”
"We wanted to share some wonderful baby news with you...Kyla arrived on Tuesday, October 3 at 4:59 am. She weighed 6.15 pounds and was 19 inches long. Our little angel is doing great, and so are mom and dad.
Many thanks to Dr. Shep for making our dream come true!!!!"
"Doctor Shep, we thank you dearly for the successful vasectomy reversal. We couldn't be more excited to share with you our success. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making this possible!"
"I have two kids from a previous marriage. When I remarried, my wife and I decided we wanted children of our own. Unfortunately, I was 44 with a vasectomy, and she was 42, and had never been pregnant. We went to see her ob/gyn, who warned us about our advanced ages, and proceeded to tell us about fertility drugs, treatments like insemination and in-vitro. With the vasectomy intact, it all seemed so complicated. At our age, we just felt like we didn’t want to take a risk.
I Googled for vasectomy reversals online and immediately hit upon Dr. Schrepferman. We made an appointment for a consultation and were really impressed with how confident he was that he could help us. He was very meticulous too, making sure he had all his information and the right pre-tests before the surgery. I could tell right away he was a perfectionist, and that’s a reassuring trait in a doctor. It wasn’t a difficult decision to have the vasectomy reversal surgery, because it clearly was our best chance at conceiving.
A lot of people talk about the recovery being worse for vasectomy reversals, but it was just the opposite for me. It was actually a much easier recovery than the original vasectomy. Two months later I could hardly tell the surgery had taken place. As Dr. Shep promised, my normal functions returned in about 6 weeks. I had the vasectomy reversal in October 2007, and by the end of November 2007, we conceived.
My wife had a normal, full-term pregnancy. We are thrilled to be parents together. The whole process of working with Dr. Shep and his staff was easy, and we were amazed how quick we were able to build our family."
"My husband and I married when he was 36 and I was 29. We each own our own businesses, have busy lifestyles and decided we never wanted to have children. He had already had a vasectomy during his first marriage, and I was fine with that. Things were great, and we had a wonderful marriage. But after a few years, I guess my biological clock went off. We both realized we wanted and needed to have a family. We consulted my ob/gyn, who referred us to a urologist in Louisville, who then referred us to Dr. Schrepferman to look into a vasectomy reversal.
We did a lot of research and really weighed our options. We looked into adoption, even getting started with an agency, but felt like the chances of getting a baby were slim. We considered artificial insemination, too, but we felt like the costs were too high and the outcome was too uncertain. And, of course, there is the issue of having to use a sperm donor. We were convinced that vasectomy reversal was going to be our best chance.
Working with Dr. Schrepferman and his staff was such a blessing. Everything was so positive, from the first consultation, all the way through post-surgery. For example: the day our vasectomy reversal surgery was scheduled there was a huge Farm Supply show in Louisville, and every hotel room for 60 miles was booked. So Dr. Schrepferman personally called The Inn at Jewish Hospital and talked them into opening up a room for us. What other doctor would do that?
Fortunately, my husband wasn't anxious about having the vasectomy reversal. It was a quick surgery and we were surprised at how little pain he felt afterwards. Unfortunately, the doctor was unable to reattach the pathway on one of the testicles, because there was too much scar tissue from his original vasectomy. But, he assured us that we should still be able to conceive.
Just a few months after our vasectomy reversal we started trying to conceive, I was pregnant! And I gave birth to Addison. Since I was already in my mid-thirties, we figured we better have our second right away. So six months after he was born, we tried again, and I was pregnant within a month. It all seemed like such a gamble at the time, but it was a risk worth taking. I can't say enough about Dr. Schrepferman and his vasectomy reversal staff. Honestly, I don't think there's anybody in the country that could beat him."
"My husband has had no fewer than five fertility related surgeries in the process of having his family. He's a trouper!
He had a vasectomy from another physician in Lexington in 1993. It didn't take, and he had to have it redone. He had three children from his previous wife, and figured he was done.
But then he divorced. We met, married, and decided we would like to have a family of our own together. We started shopping around for doctors to do a vasectomy reversal in Lexington, but we weren't very happy. They were too abrupt, and they refused to address me in the appointments at all. We just weren't happy with the answers we were getting. We were beginning to wonder if this was going to be harder than we thought.
Then we heard about Dr. Shep and his vasectomy reversal success, and made an appointment. It was like night and day. He was so thorough. He really took the time to get to know us. He said my husband had too much scar tissue to do a more traditional reversal, so he had to do a bypass. The reversal surgery went well, and we stayed overnight in Louisville. He had different post-operative guidelines, and the healing process went much, much better than it had before for him. Before, doctors had given him very little guidance on what to do afterwards, and I think that was part of our problem with the previous surgeries.
We got pregnant within a year, and I gave birth to Jonathan 'Cole' in 2006. We had a second child, Mattie, in 2007. We were ready to get another vasectomy for him, and went with a local Lexington physician for the procedure. It went fine, but unfortunately he didn't realize Dr. Shep had done a bypass and put the snip in the wrong area. We didn't realize it at the time but the vasectomy didn't work. We had another beautiful daughter, Kennedy Elizabeth, in 2008.
Let's just say when Dr. Shep does a job, he does it well! We went back to him to have the final vasectomy done, and this time, it was done right! I think if you take anything away from our story, it's that the quality of your physician makes all the difference. You can trust Dr. Shep. In my opinion, he's a miracle worker!"
"My husband had a vasectomy eight years ago while in his first marriage.
After we were married for over three years, we decided to have a vasectomy reversal and have a child.
A family member recommended Dr. Schrepferman for a vasectomy reversal as they had used him and were well pleased with him.
Thanks to our successful vasectomy reversal, April 26, 2010 I gave birth to two healthy twin boys. Landon weighed 6 pounds 8 ounces and was 19 3/4 inches long. Noah weighed 5 pounds 10 ounces and was 18 3/4 inches long.
I would definitely recommend Dr. Schrepferman and his staff to anyone considering a vasectomy reversal procedure. It's the best money we have ever invested and we got double the return."
"My wife and I decided to look into a vasectomy reversal when we decided we really wanted to have a child. We had looked into adoption and foster parenting, but I knew my wife really wanted a child of our own. So I was the one who actually started the process of investigating vasectomy reversals, to see if it was even an option.
I started by talking with my physicians: our family practitioner, my urologist, as well as my wife’s OB/GYN. All said Dr. Shep was the best vasectomy reversal doctor around.
I knew our lives would have a greater purpose with a child of our own and after meeting with Dr. Schrepferman it solidified my decision to move forward. We chose Dr. Schrepferman for a lot of reasons, including:
When we did our research and saw the case studies and publications involving him, we felt more safe and secure.
The first time we spoke on the phone with Dr. Schrepferman, he was very honest and straightforward. He answered all of our questions and left us feeling more confident in our decision.
During our first office visit, his staff was very cordial and relaxed. They again answered any questions we had, gave us some vasectomy reversal statistics not just on the success of reversals in general but on Dr. Schrepferman's success rate. Dr. Schrepferman's staff is very sincere and they treat you like close friends. We knew when we left the office we had found our doctor.
Making the decision was very easy once we had all of the facts. The surgery was not difficult by any means; however, I was quite sore. I did have a complication. When I was getting into my personal vehicle after leaving the hospital I pulled something. It caused a blood clot. A few weeks of steroids and blood thinners and everything was perfectly fine. I did my sperm counts regularly as requested and it took almost a year before my counts were where Dr. Schrepferman wanted them to be.
I had the surgery in April, 2008 and in March 2009, Dr. Schrepferman called me about my count in February and he said he felt confident that we should have no issues. In August 2009 my wife got pregnant.
My advice to anyone looking into a reversal is to do your research, make sure you choose a vasectomy reversal doctor you are confident in and who truly looks at you as a person, not just as another patient. When you know what you want to do, go for it! It will be the best decision you could possibly make. Being a father is an unbelievable experience!
As you can imagine life is crazy with a newborn, but we wouldn't change it for anything in the world. Our lives have been enriched and blessed with love we have for our son and the love that he gives back. Life can be hectic and crazy but when you come home to a sweet smiling child that reaches his arms up for you to pick him up, there's no better feeling in this world!"
"My husband Christopher 'Heath' had vasectomy reversal surgery in 2011. This precious little boy was born healthy, 13 months later. Thank you for doing what you do!"
"I just want to thank Dr. Shep for doing what he does. After 10 years of marriage, we welcomed our baby girl, Lillie, to the world on January 13, 2015 — 5 years after his reversal. I don't know if he remembers my husband and I, but my husband had a reversal done 2 years before Dr. Shep performed his procedure. The 1st surgery was performed in another state and was provided by the ARMY, well, it didn't take and my husband had a lot of scar tissue. Dr. Shep fixed that, and made the chance of having a child of our own a possibility. We can not be more thankful and feel so blessed. She is our sweet baby girl. Thank you for that."
